Uncharted

Exploration and mapmaking worked hand-in-hand from the earliest of human memory. Learn the history and techniques of the many exploring countries from their mapmaking to their ship design to their unique compass roses in the "Uncharted" exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Every civilization has a fascinating history to tell through their rich use of color and calligraphy, not to mention vividly imagined sea creatures. 

This project focused on the identity design of a theoretical exhibit shown at the art museum of a particular period in design history. I chose "Uncharted" as my topic because I not only admire the various designs of compass roses, but comparing the rich heritage of exploration and eras in history.
