Signage and Wayfinding
Sentara Hospitals have a unique challenge of united branding and yet slight variations amongst branches. Because each branch is often bought out from a previous hospital, adding new signage to the existing design while maintaining Sentara brand standards proves a new set of design challenges.
For instance working on Norfolk General Hospital, there were many portions of the floor plan from several renovations that needed to be pieced together to get the full floor plan, with each wing having a different accent color. Meanwhile Belleharbour needed more wayfinding and unique Clean Core signage. Throughout I learned meticulous checking and record keeping.
