Johns Hopkins University
Applied Physics Lab – Signage and Wayfinding

The requirements for JHU’s new Applied Physics Lab signage and wayfinding are twofold. They need the ability for sponsors and staff to find where they need to go in streamlined paths. Donors are looking for departments and people while staff members are looking for room numbers and workstation numbers. These signs need to be easily movable and replaceable because departments are constantly in flux.

We chose a thematic look related to morse code because it symbolizes communication and technology working together. With versatile magnetic signage, labels of labs and departments can be easily interchangeable. Cannon is still in the concepting phase and I am eager to see where this goes next.
